A Major Bug in G.Knol Formatting?

I have run into, what I consider, a major bug in G.Knol Formatting,
sadly, and I will attempt to discuss the problem and my "work-around"
this problem. Perhaps Google will get around to fix this bug
eventually, but I will discuss it in detail here.
The problem: While writing, "Quar'anic Ambiguities Analyzed" (yet
unpublished) I needed a reference so I copied the relevant
passages( the first 5 paragraphs) from,http://atheism.about.com/
library/irf99/blirf_saudiarabia99.htm
Unfortunately, with it came all the advertisements in the "side Bars"
that I did not want. So I attempted to edit it and that is where I ran
into trouble.
