Knol Roll

The network for Google Knol Authors to collaborate, learn, and share...

David Petherick has posted several posts here and no one seems to respond. I have tried to be provocative, still no response. The only explanation is that Knollers are scared to discuss their problems for fear of being found out that they know nothing? What else is there? For example, there is another group that has 546 members, but no one asks questions, nor offers solutions to problems on Knol. Why? see: http://groups.google.co.uk/group/knol-users/topics

And it isn't as though Knollers are so brilliant that they live in their own ivory tower and cannot condescend to mill with the riff raff. Someone please explain this mystery to me.

I'm coming in the middle of this discussion, so I'm not quite sure I've gotten the main point of this thread. If it is about non-discussion for fear of ignorance, remember, you're only ignorant as long as you don't know something. How do you learn it? Ask, it's as simple as that.

Miriam that is what I am asking, why do people join a discussion group and then go silent? It does not make sense. Welcome on board.

No, it doesn't make sense, but people are strange creatures. Sometimes we're so afraid of hearing the answer to our question that we never bother to ask in the first place. It's ludicrous! That's how you learn.

But the trouble with us, egotistical humans, is that we prefer to Tell than Ask. Or many prefer to Google it rather than ask. Hence bonds are not given a chance to develop?

People go silent for many reasons. I posted my comment to this discussion last November, then again in January, but not again. It wasn't for lack of interest or even of time; it's simply that life sometimes has a habit of getting in the way of the things we want to do. We have to consciously make the choice to continue and see things through to the end. Late comment, I know, but better than never, yes :)> ?

Miriam Ruff,I suppose it is best to act immediately like I am doing now. If I put it off, I'd probably forget because there are so many things to attend to all the time. Yes, I have lots and lots of forums that nee answering and it all takes time. Anyway, Mariam, look in here and see if you'd like to exchange views here:

Hi elle:

I followed the link, but all I came up with was a bunch of posts saying they would or would not keep responding; I didn't see a particular topic that was up for reply. If I've missed something, can you please fill me in?

Miriam

It means that you did not investigate the site? Try this and see if there is anything interesting you may want to reply to? It is just a place to exchange views with like minds, that's all. Nothing unique, except that we try to keep it friendly.
