I suggest that everybody creates a network on Ning

Let me tell you why. After one and a half year of Ning activities, all of us are members of many networks. It is often difficult to know on your profile pages whether you visit a network frequentl...

OK that's it, the story is told.

So now let us come back to Ning, and let us imagine together the best use we can do with Ning, Knol, Squidoo, MySpace and why not some national platforms such as Viadeo (France) or Xing (Germany).

There is only one web but Margareth is right, we need to be careful when taking commitments.

By its proper nature Ning is probably the safer of all the current networking platforms. Member's profile is not centralized, there is no history of networks being deleted by the staff (although some sites with adult content are removed from popular searches), their economic model is both user friendly and sound. Moreover their practice of continuous improvement of the features of the networks is fantastic, and their reactivity to members' question on Network Creators is fantastic.

And this is the biggest reason why I'm don't love facebook.....

I have so many artist friends that lost their network. Lost all the hundreds of working hours. I think it's absurd. I had a group then they just deleted the description I wrote without warning. And It's take me days before I find out that facebook don't like that I have a link to my blog that they don't accept as a social networks blog. It's my choise to choice witch community I want to blog from. Why they don't send me a warning first? THan I should delete the link.
Oh I was so mad. I don't cancel my account just because I don't wanted to loose all the people I have on my network there. But I do learn my lesson to be very carefully and I even send to many private messages and I got warning that my account can be deleted? I don't know what's the meaning is to have a message box if you can't use it as the way you want to use.

I do understand his words very well. Thanks for sharing the link. I becomes so irritated when I can't use my own intelligence, my own way to work, my own way to create contacts. I have an artist group, I use to talk with artists and that's means that i becomes invited to the artists groups BUT I do have to delete one group to be in another group. I'm not a child, I'm not a spammer and it's make me anger to be treat like one.

To not talk about those applications. May I share this video:

Thank you Margareth, Hi all !

Look at this excellent post on Facebook, and forget Facebook.
13 Reasons your Facebook account will be disabled

A friend of mine had lost hundreds of working hours for these reasons on Facebook. He forwarded this post for my information.

If I make the reflection that one: Facebook is very slow and complicated, controlled. You can't send to much messages, you can't be member in to many groups, you can loose all your network if you have bad luck. And from a artistically perspective the tools is so boring. You can't create a artistically presentation. And that's where Ning*s is so perfect in time. To catch people like me..:)
Observe that I'm only talking about from my own point of view.

I don't have experience of Myspace. I don't like it, but I still don't know why I don't like it..*

So, Ning is the perfect platform for artists. And we artist is the carrier of beauty online. Right?..*smile* People like beauty. Online as IRL....*s*

I think that is just about time that people will find Ning. I can see the reaction when I go out and Invite people to look on my page. the possibility to create you own network and it's easy to use. You don't need to be an expert in htlm codes etc.

And for people like me, creative artist, is like you give a key to open the door, I don't know how to explain better with my English.

I think people shall use it as I am using. I have Facebook only for the first contact but I use Ning as a personal contact where I refer my site as a CV. . And the personal contact is what open the second doors....now I just have to learn how to use marketing. I'm not a marketing person ...

I hope you understand my words, this rape with the poor English...but I talking as a very very newbie, as artist, from my point of view. As mostly of people. So when mostly of people like me find Ning ....? By the way I deleted my homepage when I find Ning..:)

Hi Margareth

I second you to invite the members to view the blog post you linked below.

I particularly meet his comment that it is difficult for everybody to find his way among active and non active networks. This is the very reason why I created the Ning Art Network Directory. I am not an altruist ; I needed to be better organized for drawing people to my activities than the features offered by Ning. As anything I do for that purpose, I did it on free access to everybody.

I do not tell that for self-congratulation. I think that similar groups are critically required to help that Ning does not become a mess for beginners.

I shall make a communication to Ning staff as soon as the Directory comes into the first page of Most Members in Network Creators.

I had first contact with Laura of Ning staff today on a detail in relation with these views. It is in open web, as usual, on Network Creators forum.

Go on contributing here, Margareth, you know that I appreciate your opinion very much.
