Knol Roll

The network for Google Knol Authors to collaborate, learn, and share...

Yes, that is the question. Since we only have so many hours in a day, do we publish our articles in our own web sites, or do we spread them around in places like Knol, Squidoo, Hubpages, or even EzineArticles?

Perhaps it's easier for first-time bloggers who do not yet have their own domain or web site: publish in "free" sites, and then move towards self-hosting (while maintaining what has already been started elsewhere).

Oops, Manuel. I'm just now seeing this post of yours. I used the same exact headline on an earlier post in this forum. Sorry about that. It was totally unintentional.

I plan to do the same thing David. I've just finished a Knoll on a subject (Heartworms and Dog Health) that I also have a very successful Squidoo lens on, but I wrote the Knoll using different content.

I was encouraged to do this from my first knoll, which resulted in an affiliate commission on it's 4th day of publication.

Good question Manuel.

I think I'd have to say that first-time bloggers can probably find a readier audience using existing free sites, and can then evolve, if they wish to, to their own resource. The two things are very much complimentary in my view, as long as one is careful not to entirely duplicate content.

For example, my Knols have gathered new visitors to my web sites, and I plan to cite my content on Knol from my web sites.
